We hope you’re planning to ride to Mackinaw on Saturday, September 24th for the Meet in the Middle ride, but if that’s not in the cards for you and you’re still looking for something to do in town that day, here are a couple of volunteer opportunities for you:

We Care Races

Once again, I turn to the Wheelers club for Help!  I need about 6 more cyclists to help lead and maybe sweep We Care Races next weekend,  Friday September 23rd starting around 5:45 but mostly, Saturday the 24th. Would need you there around 6:30 or 7 on Saturday depending on which race.  Please consider helping out! This is a fundraiser for the Baby Fold. Contact me, Dan Anderson    Thanks for considering!

Bike Rodeo

The Bike Rodeo is quickly approaching, and I’m hoping you may be able to volunteer.  As you know, the rodeo is a chance for children to learn safe riding techniques and the rules of the road.  We tend to get kids between the ages of 4 and 7, so it’s pretty much the cutest thing you’ve EVER SEEN.  :).

As always, the rodeo is planned for the same day as the Worldwide Day of Play in Uptown Normal.  Due to railroad construction, the event will be happening in the parking lot on the east side of Constitution Trail Boulevard, between College and Mulberry.  It’s directly east of the College Avenue Parking Deck, so it’s a higher visibility location than in previous years.

We are also fortunate that Children’s Hospital of Peoria will be there handing out free helmets.  Last year they gave away 500 FREE HELMETS!  Yeehaw!!

Needless to say, it takes many hands to corral these little people.  Can you help with one of the two shifts?  Here are the details:

Saturday, September 24
10:30 a.m. – 1:00 OR 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Constitution Trail and I hope you can assist.
