Greetings Bikers/Runners!
A few sharp eyes have noticed the MOS 100 was on the dates to save earlier this year and now it isn't.
I regret to inform you that the MOS 100 has been cancelled for this year.
This has been a decision not taken lightly by Sandy and myself.
In the past I have been on the coat tails of the McLean County Wheeler's club insurance for this event. I don't know if anything would have happened how well this would have stood up for coverage for myself and family. So I have been pursuing one day event coverage from different sources and so far, all have been very costly. I have had it suggested that I use some of the donation money to defray these costs for the event. But that goes against the #1 policy I made for the Miles Of Smiles from the beginning, ALL monies donated will go to St Jude Children's Hospital.
Over the course of the eight years we have hosted this event, we have gladly paid many out of pocket expenses, but the cost to insure this event is just too great.
My deepest thanks goes to all that have volunteered their time to help run this ride, Sandy and I could never have done it without you, the many sponsors that have donated many great door prizes and food, and especially all of you that have supported us these past eight years.
Thank you so very much and hopefully we can have a MOS 100 - 2010!
